Dragon fruit tastes best when eaten chilled. Dragon fruit has a mild flavour and taste like a combination of kiwi and pear; and is usually sweet. It is high in Vitamin C and rich in antioxidants; and is a good source of iron and fibre. They are best eaten when chilled. Choose a ripe dragon fruit, look for bright, even-coloured skin. A few blemishes on the skin are usual, but if the fruit has a lot of flaws, it may be over-ripe. Hold the dragon fruit in your palm, and lightly press the skin it should give a little, but shouldn’t be too soft or mushy. If it’s very firm, it will need to ripen for a few days.
